Letters to Dr. Abou El Fadl: "You have removed a clogged artery from my brain..." 2.16.06

Dear Dr. Abou El Fadl,

Assalaamu Alaikum

I have read most of your books, and I must say that you have removed a clogged artery from my brain. I now have the ability to rationalize, to think, to reason and to reject ugliness and irrationality. Brother, you bring the beauty of this faith with such eloquence, poetic style, teasing nuances, and rhetorical questions that it opens a dormant intellect that was sleeping in ignorance fed to it by so much pretenders over the decade.

And so, whenever I come across an ugliness that disturbs the mind, I seek comfort in your writings to regain my balance. I have been reading your books over and over again, and ever time I am learning something new. I am telling people about your isolation, your Conference, your knowledge, your wisdom and even debating people who are living in the misery and hardship of literalism.

I am delighted to see your site posted on the Canadian website Iqra.ca, and hopefully more people can find gems of thought. Brother, please do not become despondent. The message is getting out; it will take some time. Please keep writing more books, I am patiently waiting for the next one.
